Cover: Ferroptosis has emerged as a pivotal mode of programmed cell death. Since its discovery, ferroptosis has attracted considerable scientific interest, with numerous extensive studies highlighting its critical role in a broad spectrum of pathological processes. Zhang et al. (pages 413–435) provide a comprehensive overview of the regulatory frameworks, molecular mechanisms, and therapeutic implications related with ferroptosis. Its potential association with a range of pathological conditions, such as cancers, immunological diseases, neurodegenerative disorders, and other chronic diseases, is also summarized in this review. The cover illustration depicts a traditional Chinese intellectual game called Tangram. It is a dissection puzzle consisting of seven flat shapes. Many interesting patterns can be created by putting the seven shapes together intelligently.
